    Default 02 gsxr600

    This is a progress thread, this is my second GSXR600 race bike build, bought a used stunt bike and converted it back.

    The Before - No clip ons, upright bar and a clucht side brake lever for the rear brake

    Stripped down, new clip ons and front end - subframe change out

    Seats redone, new subframe on

    Rolling Chassis

    sorting out the wiring

    Test fit with some new (to me) Race fairings

    The street legal version so i can make some test runs

    Noting: The guy who bought it, immediately stripped it for stunting, put all the fairings in his attic, so i got the bike with a full set of faings, i just had to Ebay new clip ons and controls. The front rim was bent, and the lower triple. Used lower triple was $25, and it was $150 to get the rim fixed. So total cash on this build;

    $500 for the bike - 4K miles one owner, known stuntbike
    $295 for all the parts - subframe, lower, rim repair, clip ons, chain and sprocket set
    $295 for a new set of power pure tires - mechellin
    $285 for a used race fairing set
    $185 for paint and body work (working on it now)
    Total Build: $1560.00
    Build Time: 5 months

    To each there own my friend. This will be my 600 class race bike. It rode will, and only a few parts fell off. Need to bump the price tage by $1300 or so, i went with a Penske Race shock, and forgot to add the rebuilt race springs and valves in the forks. But, that's race mods, not needed on the everyday street bike. Although A-Stat, you may want to stiffen up the rear spring in yours, it'll help pull the nose up in the low speed clutch ups and give you more 12 oclock stability than the stock.

    Clicks? If it has a collar that clicks then no, you just need a large blunt tip chisel and a steel/brass hammer, if it has the two lock rings, you loosen the top, then tighten the bottom up.
