    Default Choppachris's bobber build

Hey folks, I am in the early stages of building my new bike, so I'll keep you all posted here. The bike started as a stock pearl white '02 Sportster 1200C. At the time I had a paint shop set up, and gave it a re-spray in black with orange flames with a silver racing stripe on top. The rear fender was changed to a stock style blank, I drilled the mounting holes higher to lower the fender, left the rear of the fender blank and side mounted the taillight and plate. Other changes at the time were lowering the drag bars, and tossing the front fender.

A few years later, I am changing it up again, this time it's full blown. I have modified many bikes, and built one other rigid frame sportster in the past, so I ordered a Flyrite rigid frame and got started.

The new Flyrite "Smoking Gun" rigid frame..

Beginning mock up, it's looking good already with my new DNA springer front end. The rear wheel will be changed to a spoke, and plans are for small apes or z bars, sporty tank and springer seat. I'll post more pics as I go, can't wait to ride this sucker!

Thanks guys, and ask away Spade. I'm not a pro builder, but have done this once before. I'd throw in a pic of my last build but don't want to confuse the readers with multiple bikes. Maybe i'll throw one up in the bike pics thread just for the heck of it. Payday is coming up for me on the 15th, i'll be ordering the oil tank, kickstand, and seat. Progress will be slow at first while I gather parts, but once I get all the parts here that need welding it should move right along.
